This shape puts you somewhere between a classic pig and the infamous “Magic Sam” (hence the name). When it comes to longboards, I really enjoy the feel and performance of the logs from the mid to late 1960’s. Convex bottoms, low rocker and hips aft are key characteristics of surfboards of that era. The DC SAM glides, turns off the hip and holds stable when you walk to the tip in trim. If you are looking for something fun, unique and versatile with a classic look and feel, this is the one. The key characteristics of this board include a low nose/tail rocker, a foiled 50/50 rail profile and the rolled entry to flat to gentle vee out the tail.
I like to shape these boards at lengths anywhere from 9’0 to 10’6.
